During Japan’s weekly variety show, Pokénchi, we got multiple announcements regarding Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu and Eevee presented by non other than Mr. Masuda himself. This includes a move for Pikachu that hasn’t been seen in two decades and a new fire move for Eevee. Let’s get to it!
He started off with a Pikachu Vs. Geodude battle. It was then shown that Pikachu will have the ability to surf again for the first time since Pokémon Yellow. He even has a unique animation calling back to Yellow. However, Eevee isn’t left out of the fun as it has a new exclusive fire-type move. It was offically revealed to be called “Flare Burn.” Unfortunately, we do not know too many details about it at the moment.
HM’s will be returning in the two games, but much better implemented then before. They are instead techniques learned by Pikachu or Eevee which do not take up any moveslots and are used exclusively out of battle. They include Water Walk which allows you to surf on any body of water and Diagonal Cut which slices trees to traverse into previously unexplored areas previously blocked by trees.
What do you think of this recent news? We’re you disappointed or satisfied? Let me know and I’ll see you very soon. Also don’t forget we will recieve a new trailer during next week’s Pokénchi!
