Hey, it’s Bulba here and if you know me on Twitter and Instagram then you know I’ve been asking for Shadow in Smash quite a bit. Why Shadow? Well, that’s what I’m here for! This is why Shadow should be a new fighter alongside the others in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Shadow the Hedgehog certainly has the popularity to be in Smash. Shadow has been playable or has had a major role in many major Sonic games, even getting his own title in 2005. Not only that but he certainly has the popularity with the fanbase, being the most recognizable Sonic character other than of course Sonic himself. To summarize his popularity, Shadow is way more popular then Ken ever will be so there is no reason that Ken should be picked over him.
Sonic is the longest lasting third party character. Before you try to argue Snake is as well, Snake wasn’t in Smash 4 meaning he’s been in two games compared to three for Sonic. I think if Castlevania can get two representatives in one game then Sonic should easily have another after three games. It’s only far to SEGA and specifically Sonic fans in general. Yes I am going to pick on Ken again, if the box leak is true and Ken gets in over Shadow that would be completely unfair!
Shadow makes sense as at least an echo in general. He has been a carbon copy or at least very similar in terms of gameplay to Sonic in games such as Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes and Sonic Forces. Even if Sakuri didn’t want to make him an echo, moves like chaos sphere, chaos control and others could easily be implemented into a new move set. Either way I wont complain as long as he makes it in before or at least with Ken.
Thank you for reading, I hope you understand why I think the ultimate life form should make it into the ultimate Smash game. If you want to know the evidence behind his inclusion, I recommend this video I made in collaboration with Rocktilleri (I made the script and provided images, he edited, voiced it and added so extra goodies) https://youtu.be/0JaHeennkA8. I’ll see you all soon, and remember to not be sour to Shadow. (Picture by The Masked Warriah on Twitter)
