Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Menu Theme Leaked and Direct Speculation!

Hey guys, Bulba here and that was unexpected! We’ve got a fresh new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leak, after then it is time to discuss the next Smash Direct. Warning: leaks and rumors will be discussed. If you do not want to be spoiled of anything please leave. Without further ado, what is this Smash leak?

On Aero’s Discord (join here), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s menu theme was successfully leaked by a friend of Aero’s (the ever growing Nintendo YouTuber). Since then it has spread like wild fire as it caught the internet by storm for good reason. The music is excellent! Have a listen to it as Chrunchii has uploaded it onto YouTube https://youtu.be/vupCACVrjCs. Remember; do not snitch to the Nintendo ninjas.

Next up is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct speculation. Many Nintendo fans have argued whether the next Direct will be held in October or November as both months have their evidence. October would work as new videos were added to the fighter playlist on YouTube recently, the new tab over fighters on the Smash website has gone (which only happens before a new fighter), Smash news has been dry since Isabelle and it Nintendo could reveal everything before the Smash Nintendo Switch bundle releases. November would work as Sakuri warned fans to expect Smash news to slow down this month and it would be one month before the game releases which is good for spacing the announcements. It could go either way, so there is nothing to do but wait unfortunately.

As for what could be revealed in the Direct, there are quite a few possibilities. One of the more obvious reveals would be a blow out of the new story mode titled “Spirits.” Sakuri could inform of the basic plot, cutscenes, gameplay, bosses, etc. One boss expected to come is Skull Kid, although some may be very disappointed he is not a full character. Other nice picks for bosses include Dr. Eggman, the many robot masters of Mega Man, Kamek, Ganon, Marx, etc. As for cutscenes, there will most likely be a few but not to the extent of Super Smash Bros. Brawl’s Subspace Emissary mode. Finally, the plot is heavily speculated to revolve around the original Smash cast from Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64 reviving the spirits of the other fighters which could be true.

Another obvious thing to expect would be brand new fighters and echoes. Out of all characters, it is believed that there are four remaining assuming the box theory is incorrect; Ken (echo), Shadow (echo), Incineroar and Geno. Shadow was a previous assist tophy who has been replaced, Ken was leaked by Vergeben plus a picture was leaked, Incineroar was leaked by Vergeben and Geno is the most requested character in Smash history other than of course Ridley and King K. Rool, both of whom made it in the roster. Since Sakuri did indeed say not to expect too many more newcomers, it is safe to say not to expect more than two more newcomers and two echoes for the base game. However, DLC could be teased at without revealing anyone. Characters whom were very requested that could make DLC include Shantae, Bandana Waddle Dee, Isaac, Banjo/Kazooie, Minecraft Steve and Sora.

Finally new modes, assist trophies and other things could be discussed. New assist trophies may include previously heavily requested characters who did not make the cut or characters Mr. Sakurai could see fitting in. As for new modes, other than Spirits and possibly Smash Run and a few more modes returning not much can be talked of. However, it is very possible to get a section on online and potentially a demo for the game to be revealed. Other things which could be discussed include trophies, remaining stages, etc.

What The Masked Warriah has to say on the matter; “Smash Direct rumored for this Friday? Plausible. Wouldn’t be surprised if it happened. November is much more likely though, anyway #Shantae4Smash”

Thank you so much for reading. What do you think of the leak and when do you think the next Direct will air? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter. See you soon!
