Pokémon Let’s Go Road Trip Interview Feat. Poptartterms!

Poptarttermss, a friend on Discord, just played Pokemon Let’s Go during the Pokémon Road trip event. We contacted Poptarttermss asking him if he wanted to be interviewed about his experience. He said yes, so here we are today. Thank you for joining us Poptart! You can find his twitter here. (BulbaSour interviewed Poptarterms).

BulbaSour:

What were the controls (including motion controls) like in Let’s Go?

Poptarttermss:

Before you ready up, you set the controller in the right spot to throw, and it’s very hard to miss as long as you swing forward. The motion controls were good, but you have to move your arm so much, it would be very hard to do on the go.

BulbaSour:

How were the visuals?

Poptarttermss:

The game looked great, the animations were fluid, I had no frame drops, and the visuals may be able to rival top tier Switch games.

BulbaSour:

How was the music?

Poptarttermss:

They had a loud speaker playing music. from the beginning of the Picking Pikachu or Eevee is Only The Beginning trailer and over the three hours I was there I didn’t get sick of it once.

BulbaSour:

What happened in the event overall?

Poptartterms:

Mostly you were there to play the games, but you could also take pictures with Pikachu and Eeevee, they had pokestops dispensing Eeevee’s and Pikachu’s for Pokémon Go, and they had many freebee’s. (i can send pictures tomorrow if you want) Mostly you were there to play the game.

BulbaSour:

What did you like the most about the game?

Poptarttermss:

I liked how the game felt like you were engaged at all times. You were looking for Pokémon, trainers and finding where you were going. We only got to play 10 minutes in Viridian Forest, so I didn’t see too much. Also, when it loaded the game it said ‘Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee : Demo Version’ so we may see a demo.

BulbaSour:

What did you dislike the most about the game?

Poptarttermss:

I didn’t dislike anything, but if I had to choose something it would be the menu. When you show your Pokémon, they are just sprites and not models. It doesn’t blend well and just looks weird.

BulbaSour:
What did you think of the event not including playing the game itself?

Poptarttermss:

The event was fine, you got to pick a line whether you wanted Team Eevee or Team Pikachu. The staff were really nice and had some cool jackets with a switch logo and the game logo. They didn’t sell these, but they looked awesome. Also there were some odd characters there.

BulbaSour:

Are you overall more or less hyped for the final release?

Poptarttermss:

Finally, I don’t feel more hyped or less hyped, because I was already excited, however I was excited because this is the first time I’ve played a game early that wasn’t just a downloadable demo.

This concludes the Interview! Poptarttermss, joining was very much appreciated. Pokémon Let’s Go! Pikachu & Eevee launches November 16th, 2018. Thanks for reading, and we’ll see you soon!
